Had Light Spotting, Not Pregnant. Been On Gildess Fe. Will It Affect My Body?

Hi I have been on Gildess Fe 1/20 for about 9 months now. At first i would get my period regularly every month. Then it would be a very light period, then just spotting, to completly nothing. I havent had my period in months. No im not pregnant. Can this affect my body? I do feel fine. I have no complaints with this pill. I dont have side effects other then the fact that it stopped my cycle. Im just wondering if this can affect me.

OBGYN 's  Response
Hi Ariana,
Thanks for the query.
Contraceptive pills can lead to menstrual irregularity.
They can cause breakthrough bleeding, intermenstrual spotting, hypomenorrhea, amenorrhea as side effects.
Usually usage of contraceptive pills for shorter period like 1 to 2 years may not lead to any major problems.
Though you are having amenorrhea, as external hormones are getting supplied to you by means of pills, there may not be much problem.
After stopping the pills, it may take few months for regularization of the cycles.
Once your cycles regularize you can plan for pregnancy.
Take care.
