Had Mirena Iud. Getting Acne All Around My Mouth And Neck. What Could Be Causing Acne?
hey I have been on the mirena iud for two and a half years now, and over the past 12 months I have been getting acne all around my mouth and neck, I have tried every over the counter treatment, pro active, and have changed my diet quit dramatically, and nothing has helped at all, do you think the iud could be causing my acne. I have revised the full prescribing information for Mirena and there was nothing mentioned regarding acne formation around the face and neck. Even if you have some sort of hypersensitivity to the drug, it must be generalized, not in the face and neck only.
So, I don't think Mirena is the cause of the acne and I advise you to visit a dermatologist.
