Had Persistent Cough, Mostly At Night. Tonsils Are Huge With Red Veins. Any Suggestion
Hi my daughter is three and a half and has had a pretty persistent cough, mostly at bed time for almost two weeks now. I took her to doctors last week and they said it was just a cough. My daughter hasn't had any signs of a fever but I looked at her throat tonight and saw that her tonsils are huge with red veins and they look almost blistered I don't know if I should take her back to the doctors or just ride it out, she has had strep once before and a low case of mono please help! Thank you!
Welcome to HCM. Most likely it is due to upper respiratory tract infection. More coughing at bed is usually due to collection of secretions in the throat. You have to give montelukast/levocetrizine. Bronchodilator with ambroxol will be helpful. Avoid chocolates, cold drinks, ice cream, deep fried foods. Antibiotic under guidance of your doctor. Keep in touch with your doctor.
