Had Radical Bilateral Salpingo Oopherectomy. Have Menopausal Symptoms. Should I Take Hormone Replacement?
Hi, I am postsurgery 7 years this Sunday. I had a radical bilateral salpingo oopherectomy and to this date I am still experiencing menopausal symptoms. They are not as bad as they were in the begining. I'm just wondering how much longer these symptoms are suppose to last. Also I do not take hormone replacement as it can cause the cancer I had to come back.
Welcome to HCM.It would help discussing this with your Gynaecologist as in some cases the symptoms can persist for along period of time. The average time would be between 2.5 years to 5 years for cessation of menopausal symptoms ,but in rare cases longer persistence has been seen.
