Had Regular Periods. Recently Became Irregular. Why Is This Happening?
hi,im 19 and for the past 5 years my period has been consistent and regular. it has always arrived when it was expected. i am not on any form of birth control pills or any contraceptives or anything like that. however recently my period stopped coming every month like it used to. instead it comes every second my month and it lasts normal 5 days. but my question is,why is this happening? `is there something wrong with me.? should i be worried
Hi, The pattern of menstruation sometimes gets changed from the usual 30-day to 60-day. So long as a regular pattern is followed with no excessive bleeding, there is no reason to worry. Such changes can occur when there is a prolonged or delayed ovulation owing to some hormonal imbalance; this could be due to stress, obesity, certain medications, infections or constitutional. To rule out any organic cause, you should get investigated along with a proper evaluation by a gynecologist. Hope this helps.
