Had Spitum Test And Xrays Done. What Are The Findings?

Had spitum test done and had 2 xrays already. Sputum results show moderate pus and epithelial cells. Impression on the first xray was left round calcific density, and the apicolordotic view shows clear upper lobes and the previously mentioned round calcific density in the left 1st anterior rib is not seen in this view. I am worried that something may still be wrong because of the sputum results. Can you please explain the results? Thank you so much.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The X-ray of the chest shows a calcified lesion in one view and it is not visible on another view.
A lesion in chest fields may not be visible after changing the view.
The presence of calcific lesion on X-ray may be due to a healed lymph node.
Infections of the lung are very common especially in developing countries.
A sub-clinical infection results in healing and subsequently calcification.
The sputum examination reveals presence of epithelial cells and pus cells.
Presence of pus cells suggests presence of acute inflammatory infection.
There is no evidence of tuberculous infection or cancer.
Acute infection can be controlled by antibiotic therapy.

Other than acute inflammation, there is nothing significant on the X-ray chest and sputum examination.

Thanks and take care
