Had Symptoms Of Tonsilitis. Was Given Penicillin. Is It Normal To Have Blood Traces In Mucus Keep Blowing Out Or Coughing Up?

Hi, i have had the symptoms of tonsilitis for 2 weeks now but was only diagnosed with it yesterday, i have been given penicillin to take four times a day for 10 days. i am just wondering when the antibiotics will start to take affect and also is it normal to have blood traces in my mucus that i keep blowing out or coughing up?

Hi,
Antibiotics take 2-3 days to work at its best.
Having slight blood traces in is common due to congestion in throat might give blood stained mucous while coughing due to irritation.
