Had Unprotected Sex. Excessive Menstrual Discharge, Bleeding During Sex. Help

My period rarely lasts more than 4-5 days start to finish. This time, three days before it was due, I began a sexual relationship with a man whose penis is longer than I have ever experienced...I'm certain he easily reaches my cervix. The first encounter produced a lot of menstral discharge...three days later my period actually started normally, and went through it's normal cycle. Now, three days later, I have had two more encounters with the same man, and the menstral discharge is slightly alarming. I've never experience anything like this. I do not bleed between encounters though, there just appears a great mess every time we have sex. I'm a 42 year old, healthy non-smoking woman.

Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

I have gone through your query, and understand your concern to the different reaction your body is experiencing.

But, do not worry. This is normal in woman who either have just initiated sexual intercourse or in women whose partners are well endowed.

But, let us first rule out other possible causes to this. I hope you are not on any birth control pills? Because if you are, these could cause an irregular bleed.

Taking your age into consideration, I would like to know if you are experiencing any symptoms of menopause? If yes, you could also be experiencing numerous changes in your body, which can also result in a bleed, even without intercourse. I also hope you are well lubricated, as the friction can also result in a bleed.

I would also request you to either manually (clean and sterile hands) try to examine the inside of your vagina for any bumps, sores, etc; as friction to any such structures could also result in a bleed. These could be present due to some underlying infections.

The last thing I would like to rule out is a simple infection, which should have other symptoms like:
-Burning sensation while urinating
-Frequent urination
-Increased urge to urinate, but less amount of urine passed
-Chills
-Fever
-Lower abdominal and/or flank region pain
-Itching around the genitals
-Blood in urine or immediately after (not always seen)

Unless you are experiencing any other symptoms, or can relate to any of the above mentioned conditions, you should be fine. Just make sure you inform your partner to be a little more gentle, and avoid complete depth penetration of his penis inside of you for a while, till you get more accustomed to it, and I am sure you should be fine. Also, make sure you maintain good hygiene before and after the session of intercourse, to avoid any infections. Wishing you all the luck you need and more.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications at: http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-shoaib-khan/64581 . I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.
