Had Unprotected Sex In The Peak Time Of Ovulation. Took Next Choice Pill Within 30min. Is Pregnancy Possible?

Hello Dr! Yesterday was the peak of my ovulation and I had unprotected sex. I took the Next Choice pill within 30 minutes and I just wanted to know if our chances of pregnancy is still great. I know that the pill is supposed to change my chemical balance in my vagina to make it more difficult for the sperm to live but seeing as though I had sex on the same day of my ovulation, I just wanted to have an official opinion. Hello,

Taking Next Choice within first 24 hrs following unprotected sex gives protection more than 95% against unwanted pregnancy. You will get a withdrawal bleeding within 7 days of taking the pill and next cycle will be delayed or earlier due to hormonal imbalance & mental stress.

You should wait for next coming period and if it is delayed more than 7 days, you need to undergo one home pregnancy test and later one blood test for beta-hcg to confirm the same.

Avoid stress/ anxiety, take healthy diet, maintain genital hygiene and take sound sleep. Always practice safe sex in future.
