Had Unprotected Sex, Thought I Was Pregnant. Now Got My Menstrual Cycle. Could I Still Be Pregnant?
Hi Doc,
I have separated from my partner for two (2) going to three (3) years now. I had my period on the 15th May, 2013 and had unprotected sex on the 18th May, 2013. I am not on any contraceptives.
I thought I was pregnant for sure however I got my menstrual cycle on Monday 3rd June, 2013 and just finished yesterday. I don't understand as I thought it was an 'unsafe' day according to the Evulation Method. Could I be pregnant? Please advise thanks Jennifer.
Hi Jennifer ! To be sure if you have conceived or not, you have to go for a serum HCG or an ultrasound abdomen. Simple urine home pregnancy test can not totally exclude pregnancy. What you think as menstrual cycle on 3rd June may be a partial miscarriage, or may be an effect of pelvic inflammatory disease. If you continue with such symptoms with uncertainty, I would suggest you to see your obntetrician and gynaecologist for a check up and further investigations if need be. Take care. Thanks.
