Has Liver Cancer And Cirrhosis. Given 6 Months To Live. Has Abdominal Fluid And Swelling Of Legs. Life Span?

my brother in law has liver cancer and cirrhosis. been given 6 months to live, has abominable fluid,swelling of legs, He saw doctor today who told him his liver is not working at all how long can we expect him to live. ammonia levels are causing mental problems...just need some idea of how long he can survive with live so poor

From your history looks like its an advanced case of liver cancer. As his ammonia levels are increasing his brain functions will further get affected. survival will depend on how his body responds to the treatment.overall survival rate at this stage is only 10% for average of 3 - 6 months.
