Has PTB Recurred If X-ray Shows Infiltrates Probably Due To PTB Of Undetermined Activity In The Lung?
hi doc god morning! my sputum exam is negative but mu x-ray shows that there left upper lobe infiltrates probably due to PTB of undetermined activity... i am applying abroad this month is that possible that i have ptb again.. i am done taking my medicine last two years ago..thank you and i hope you will answer my question...
Hi and welcome to HCM. PTB is curable and if you finished complete coarse of treatment then your are cured. The x ray findings of TB even after treatment may persist. A chest x-ray will not show this improvement until weeks or months later. Fibrosis of upper zones of lungs are common finding after TB treatment. I think you might be having this and their is less possibility of reinfection. If their are no other symptoms like fever or cough its less likely to be pulmonary TB. All the best.
