Has A Large Amount Of Drainage Slightly Yellow Looking And Smelly. Could It Be An Ear Infection? Treatment?

My 12 month old has a large amount of drainage coming out of his left ear...slightly yellow looking and smelly. This morning it was googy and crusty with noticable leakage on the sheets. He also has had a LOT of small BM not hard ones but more like small mushy ones and he cries each time. Could it be an ear infection?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, it should be an ear infection. It could be either from the outer ear or middle ear. What is BM by the way?

He will need to be treated; please see an ENT specialist in your area. He may have to be given ear drops and antibiotics. Sometimes surgical intervention could be required for middle ear problems.

Regards,
Sreenivasan
