Has Deteriorating Heart, Enlarged And Low Pumping. Heart Transplant? Treatment?

my son is 31 yrs. old, and has a deterating heart , enlarged, main muscle is messed up, and pumping only 10 %, he just found this out 1 month ago , he has gotten rid of a lot of fluid with meds, the dr.put him on digoxin to maintain it.dr. said would talkabout heart transplant way way down the road. what is usually the chances on the meds, only pumping 10%,and ,does this sound like the right tratment for now ?

your son seems to be sufferring from heart failure with severe systolic( pumping) dysfunction..

As you are saying that this has been diagnosed only 1 month before, cause of failure is important to tell about prognosis and treatmant modalities.

usual pump failure cases are treated with diuretics( lasix, aldactone), digoxin, B blocker, ace inhibitor .
In certain cases CRT is useful, and if all modality are failed final treatment is heart transplant.
In some cases like viral myocarditis this failure is reversible also

therefore you consult a cardiologist and he will explain you according the cause.
