Have Endometriosis, Adhesions On Bowels, Burning Sensation. Had Laparotomy. Taken Percocet. Will It Help With Pain?

I have Endometriosis and had a laparotomy 9 days ago; all i had removed were adhesions on my bowels. The past few days I have had a severe burning pain on the side where the adhesions previously were. No change in position and no amount of medications (Percocet, Ibuprofen 800 mg, plus muscle relaxers) seem to help. Any suggestions on pain management? How long should I expect this to continue before I should contact my doctor? Thank you in advance.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

You should not wait any longer with your symptoms. Your recent surgery (like every surgery) could cause some late complication like blood accumulation in the abdominal cavity. Such blood if left without treatment can turn into an abscess and lead to sepsis.
Your burning can be also caused by wound infection or other issue like urinary tract infection. But for sure you should have it checked by your surgeon.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
