Have A Swelling In Tongue. Gets Uncomfortable After Eating Sweet Or Spicy. No Difficulty In Swallowing. Have Bump Like Feeling.
I have this feeling that there is a slight swelling on my tongue (at the back) for over two weeks now. It gets more uncomfortable after eating something sweet or spicy. When i breath in dust, it gets irritated too. I had blocked nose, sneezed and coughed for a while but that has subsided now because i treated it but the bump-like feeling on my tongue is still there. No difficulty in swallowing or pain. I feel more uncomfortable in the early hours of the morning. I went to see my doc and she prescribed antibiotics which i finished up last night.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The symptoms of swelling of tongue, blocked nose, sneezing after eating specific foods or breathing dust are suggestive of allergy. Allergy can develop against food items as well as dusts. You can take anti-histaminics for providing symptomatic relief against these allergens. For long term relief, exposure to these allergens is required. If the exposure to the allergens is not possible, steroids can be used for symptomatic relief.
You need to consult immunologist for relevant investigations and thus management.
