Have Abscess Under Clitoral Hood, Painful. Taking Doxycycline. What Is Going On?

Hi,

I have (what I assume is) an abscess under my clitoral hood. It only effects the (my) left side up near the actual clitoris. This isn't the first time it happened. The first time was in 2007 and i had it lanced. It was so ungodly painful that it makes me hesitant to go to a doctor for it. But it has happened again since then. It seems to occur every 18 months or so. I'm not sexually active (I am a virgin) but I am considered obese (5'6" @ 255 lb). I try to keep it clean down there.

Normally, I treat this kind of infection with doxycycline. It usually works and makes it burst and ooze bloody puss. The abscess usually gets to be about the size of the pad of my thumb. Now, it's about the size of a large grape tomato. It only affects the upper area of my labia and hood. The lower is untouched (as the other side) by the abscess. It hurts all the time but it spastically has intensified pain.

I thought I was out of doxy so I tried amoxicillin and metronidazole but it didn't touch it. I found out, though, that my dad had some doxy and I've been on it 3x a day but it doesn't seem to be helping like it use to but it may not have been enough time. My dad gave me some benzocaine (prescribed by for a sore throat) and a sterile syringe (for his diabetes) and the benzocaine didn't even touch the pain even after dousing the area for 30 minutes. It was too painful to stick the needle in to pop it or extract anything.

I'm trying to avoid a giant bill but this is getting too much. I have school and work to do. What's going on with my body?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
In my opinion this is a sebaceous cyst with added infection.
A pendulated cyst may be.
Usually this is common near vaginal parts.
Since your father having diabetes , so get in blood for sugar level .
Consult a surgeon and get it incise as early as possible .
Don't try to puncture it with needle or don't squeeze it.
Good luck.
