Have Alopecia Areata. Taking Vitamin Pill. Lost Eye Brow Hair Have White Spots On Nails. Suggest
Hi, Samuel I am a 29 year- old female. I have alopecia areata since 2011. No doctor discovered the exact cause of it. And I did not prefer to take kortikosteroid pills. I had some injections in thosed parts instead. Most of them grow back. But on the meantime I lost some of my eyebrow. And I read a lot about the main causes of this illness. For the lost two weeks I am taking a vitamine pill which includes iron, folic asid and B12 in it. And my hair fall stopped. I don't find any hair on my pillow when I get up anymore. I don't want to feel so happy because it is a kind of illness you never know what is waiting for you in the next day. But I believe every illness has a reason, and stress is not only reason for everything. It may improve the situations in bad way but can not have the power to effect the whole situation. Today and before many times I felt pain in some parts of my hair roots. I don't know the exact reason. But it that have a relation with alopecia areata ? and although I take regular vitamine pills each day two times I still have white spots on my nails.

Hello, Thanks for the query, It is an autoimmune disorder ( formation of antibodies against ones own body structures) In this condition antibodies are formed against hair follicles and hence they are destroyed. There is no permanent cure to this but can be treated symptomatically. Steroids are the only effective treatment available. May be you should start taking oral steroids. Vitamins will not help.
