Have An Implant Inserted Into My Left Under Arm. Have Swelling Around That Area. What Does It Indicate?

I have an implant inserted into my left under arm, I have had it for two and a half years. For the past couple of days I have has swelling around that area, and further down as the days go by, and I'm in quite a bit of pain, also I can't straighten my arm fully as it hurts it all the more. Is this my body's way of telling me it doesn't want the implant anymore? Should I be worried?

Hi there ~

I understand your concern. You do not mention what kind of implant and for what condition the implant was inserted. However since there has been a lag time between insertion of the implant and having swelling in the area I would suggest that you should consult a doctor since examining the area and getting imaging studies done would indicate the kind of treatment you would need. I hope this helps.

Take care and have a lovely day!
