Have Belly Button Ring, Abscess Formation. Should I Take It Out?

I am wondering if it is safe to take my belly button ring out? It has been pierced about five months, and over the past few days has developed what I believe to be an abscess and it did drain a little today but I am worried it will return so I have decided it is probably best to take it out now. But I am worried the abscess will spread to the area which is now occupied with the belly button ring, is that at all logical or will my body be able to heal as it should?

Hi, it appears to be the umblical abscess, may be due to bacterial infection. Of course though it is drained by it self, as think it may recur as it is not completely treated.
It need to be drained completely, and dried with usage of antibiotics to controle the infection. So i advise you to consult a surgeon for diagnosis an dtreatment. Thank you.
