Have Bloating, Headache And Weight Gain After The Periods. What Could Be The Reason?

Hi
A week and a half ago, I got my period, it lasted 5 days and did a variety of colors - from dark brown to bright red. After my last day on my period, I became very bloated centered around my belly button. I've also had an on and off headache for 6 days and I've had weight gain of approx 2 pounds. I'm very confused and feeling slightly crampy. Please help.

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

With symptoms of bloating, weight gain, and cramping, the first thing you need to do is check a pregnancy test. If that is negative, then the next step is to consider that what you are experiencing is related to your cycle. These are typical premenstrual symptoms and are likely just related to your cycle. The bleeding that you had confuses the matter, but it is also possible that this was not your normal period. Talk with your doctor about birth control pills to regulate your cycle and control these symptoms better.

I hope that this helps!
