Have Bright Red Blood After Urination. Stained Underwear. Sores In Genital Area. Decreased Appetite. On Anxiety Meds. Recommendations?
Hi, white female here, concerned: for two days now, I have noticed a decent amount of bright red blood (not spots) when I wipe after urination but no blood in urine, and have noticed stained underwear. No visible sores or lesions in genital area. Decreased appetite. I take occasional, situational anxiety meds, Cymbalta 60mg daily and Xanax .25mg when I need to sleep. No other known medical issues. Have had hysterectomy when young. I am 47. Drink alcohol frequently and smoke cigarettes approx. 5/day. Otherwise in good health. Please advise. Thank You - K
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The sores in the genital area with bright red blood after urination is suggestive of a urinary tract infection- may be associated with an STD. This needs proper antibiotic treatment after few investigations. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Rakhi Tayal , drrakhitayal@gmail.com
