I have had intermittent, chronic conjunctivitis since May with no relief for the numerous eye drops prescribed to me. My eye MD has diagnosed allergic conjunctivitis. I have taken steroid drops, antihistamine drops, and antibiotic drops without relief. The conjunctiva is reddened and inflamed. The surrounding tissue (lids) are itchy. There is a burning itch at the caruncle, bilaterally, and generalized itching across the entire eye. When I lay down, I feel pressure along the right nasolacrimal canal. I am desperate for relief! More than an hour ago, I took Vistaril 50mg, and Pred Forte, one drop each eye, and still no relief whatsoever. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
