Have Circular Itchy Rashes, Scalp Lesions With Crust. Clean With Soap, Salt, Itch Goes But Pin Holes Appear
hi, my problem is semicircle and circular shaped rashes which itch.when scrubbed with soap or treated with table salt, will weep and once cleaned off.minute pin holes appear and itching disappears, but eventually occurs elsewhere.i also have scalp lesions, which form a crust. I treat this with savlon cream, this keeps at bay but dosent get rid of it.your advise will be most appreciated.
Hi, thanks for your query. As per your description it seems to be scalp psoriasis or severe seborrheic dermatitis. You may do as follows: -use a tar based shampoo every alternate days to wash your scalp. -apply a mild steroid lotion twice daily for a week or more. -savlon cream may cause irritation so it is not recommended. -a short course of oral antibiotic may be helpful. -take oral anti histamine for itching
If it does not settle in a week or increase, you may consult a dermatologist for other medication like oral tretinoin.
Hope this helps you.
