Have Clogged Ear, Loss Of Hearing, Ear Pain, Hurts To Open Mouth. Taking Sofradex. How Long To Recover?
Hi, I am a 25 year old female currently holidaying in Thailand. During my time here I have developed what I have self-diagnosed (I know self diagnosis isn t good but I don t speak Thai and most people have very poor English here) as an outer ear infection . I was swimming in the resort pool and couldn t rid that clogged, water-in-ear feeling no matter what I tried! I decided to leave it to go away on its own as it usually does. However 2 days later I still had a loss of hearing in that (right) ear, and a pulsating pain, it even hurt to open my mouth to bite food! I went to a pharmacy here, and with a lot of miming & sign language managed to get my point across. I was given sofradex, I know this should only be used with a prescription but I figured it couldn t hurt to try for the few days I have left here. I was wondering how long it will take (roughly) for that blocked feeling to go and my hearing to return?? I am quite nervous here as I know the healthcare system is not as great/trustworthy as back in Australia. Any help would be amazing thank you!!
