Have Cold And Throat Pain, Fever Low BP, High Pulse Rate, Strep Negative. What Is The Reason?

Hi Dr. I have cold and throat pain since yesterday. Today came down with fever 101.1. But still was doing house work and laundry. Went to a CVS clinic...where they tested me...Strep was negative. BP was 117/77, respirations 18, but pulse rate was 108. The nurse asked if I was drinking and eating well...I said not too good...She told me to keep and eye on the pulse rate and go to the ER if needed. I am not sure what to do..

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Possibly viral fever
Follow up with an Internist / get yourself examined / at times, basic investigation may be necessary...

Over The Counter (OTC) Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs (NSAID) / decongestants / soothening lozenges will be useful in the meanwhile...

The treating doctor may suggest them depending on need, based on his assessment of the situation.

Take care
Wishing all well
God bless
Good luck
