Have Cough, Chest X Ray Shows Nothing. What Can Be Done?

I have a cough I cannot seem to get rid of and chest x ray shows up nothing. I do not smoke nor does my partner but probably a bit of hairspray has been breathed in during my life time The cough is persistent and I seem to have trouble with energy at the moment and breath sometimes.

Hi, Thanks for using HCm.

Cough can result due to irritation in throat or respiratory tract.
As your X-ray of chest is not showing any abnormality, most probable cause could be Gastric reflux of acid resulting in irritation of throat or post nasal drip or allergic manifestation.

Get examined by by a qualified ENT doctor, Treatment depends on the cause for your irritation in throat.

Warm salt water gargling 3 to 4 times a day helps to clear throat.
