Hello, Welcome to healthcare magic Dark patches is rather a broad term. It can include any hyperpigmentary problems. The cause for your pigmentation has to be ascertained. A consultation with a dermatologist practicing cosmetology will help in diagnosis. Sunlight induced photo-pigmentation, freckles and UV spots, Melasma, Seborrhoeic melanosis, Addisonian pigmentation,Vitamin B12 deficiency, acanthosis nigricans etc are all causes of pigmentation and needs to be ruled out.
Avoid sunlight as much as possible and use a sunscreen daily during day time. A face wash containing 2 % salicylic acid will help in decreasing oiliness. Chemical peels will help if you take many sittings provided you rule out internal causes of pigmentation. Hope this helped Take care
