Have Diabetes, Cold Feet And Knees, Sweating. Taking Etizola, SRT 50 And Goodnoct. What To Do?

My mother is a diabetic since 2008 generally with fasting 180/pp-210.,also thyroid tsh within normal range of 1.6 and FT4 28.7. There is a frequent recurrence like 2/3 times of unexplainable body temperature- cold feet and knee with profuse sweating. We have been administering her with ETIZOLA .25 for the last 2 years. But stop the medicine replacing with SRT 50 and goodnoct xr 12.50 but no respite. What should we do? Should we administer again with etizola?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Since you stated that your mother is diabetic from last 5 years and she ishaving cold clammy feet with profuse sweating , but nothing about the treatment of diabetes.
She is having sertarlin 50 mg +goodnoct (zolpidem) i.e she is also taking treatment of depression , so this may be the cause of cold feet with mild degree temperature.
If you think that etizola ( etizolam ) was good for her than why stopped the drug?
Still her blood sugar level is not under control so cold feet may be due to peripheral neuropathy.
Now 5 years passed so upload the latest reports of thyroid hormones test as in your mother case thyroid imbalance may be ( myxedema ) .
Consult a physician/ psychiatrist / diabetologist and get treatment according advice of specialists.
Good luck.

Hello,
These symptoms suggest either hypoglycemic attacks or due to autonomic neuropathy.Get the blood sugar tested at th time of this attack.A low blood sugar level will confirm hypoglycemia.
But if there is no low sugar, then most likely it is due to autonomic neuropathy.
Consult a diabetologist and get your mother investigated to find the exact cause.
Treatment would depend upon finding the cause.
Thanks
