Hello, Your report indicates a near normal fasting blood sugar levels.Although you have not mentioned your PP sugar levels but your HBA1c levels are little high and require a little better control. For this you may add some drug from different group of anti diabetics like VOGLIBOSE ( alphaglucosidase inhibitor ) so that you don't get hypoglycemia. You may discuss with your doctor regarding this. Your LDL cholesterol is high and should be below 80.Your total cholesterol levels are also slightly high.Triglycerides are normal but HDL is little low. You are advised to do regular aerobic exercise like brisk walking for 40 minutes and add some statin drug for control of cholesterol levels. Keep your BP below 120/80. Discuss with your doctor regarding this. Thanks
Hi, Thanks for using Healthcaremagic, You are Diabetic and Hypertensive and treated for last >15 years. Your blood sugar is reasonably controlled as far as Fasting blood sugar is concerned but we would like to know Postprandial blood sugar also and keep it less than 160 mg/dl. Your Cholesterol is mildly deranged, commonly statin is used to control lipid abnormality there are other benefits of statin apart from controlling Cholesterol you can discuss with your treating Physician. Target to keep LDL You should try to reduce HBA1c level which shows over all control of blood sugar to between 6.5 and 7%. Adding Vitamin D and B12 would be useful. Your treatment is on right lines please continue it with periodic medical check up. Monthly FBS and PPBS and HBA1c every 3 months. Take care. Good Luck. Dr.Akhilesh Dubey M.D
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. As your HB A 1 C is high and along fasting sugar level , this is the cause of concern. As far as concerned about the correct or wrong treatment , it depends upon the doctor , who prescribed drugs for what purposes and in what dosages . In my opinion all the anti diabetic drugs including drug for blood pressure are most potent and efficient. Good luck. Dr. HET
