Have Dry Throat. Had Neck Surgery Three Years Back. Taking Ad Oral, Xanax And Vicoprofin. Treatment?

Hello, I have had dry throat now for at least 4 months, to the point where I have to sip / drink water every minute.

I did have neck surgery 3 years ago, where they went through the front of my neck to perform my neck surgery.

I take Ad oral, Xanax and Vicoprofin for 3 years now, did not have that dry through back then ? I am hoping that this is from the surgery of my neck, I do not see any symptoms on my neck, bit weak though.

Hi and thanks for the query,

The dryness at the level of your throat might , and might not be related to the surgery. It could be interesting to know if your experience dryness elsewhere like at the level of the mouth, the eyes> In case you do, excluding a systemic disease that usual;ly involves the serous mucosae called Sjogren's syndrome could be helpful.

However, a careful clinical evaluation is necessary, preferably by an ENT specialist. It is very rare that your drugs should be responsible for these symptoms. I suggest you book an appointment with an ENT specialist. Thanks and hope this helps, kind regards.
