Have Fever, Body Pain, Sweating. Took Penicillin, Having Constant Headache After A Week. Any Ideas?

I awoke middle in the night moday with a fever , body aches and my sweat had an odd sweet weird smell. I went to work for 8 hours(could not call out) got home and took some penicillin to awake the next morning with no fever. But as the week has gone on I have noticed a constant headache and that sweet smell still coming from me or maybe thats what i smell.

Hi,
It is likely you have a flu-like virus which can cause headache and muscle aches. Penicillin will not have any effect on a virus infection. It is coincidence that your fever subsided after the dose of penicillin.
I suggest you take paracetamol and ibuprofen, drink plenty of water and your symptoms are likely to improve over the next few days.

Dr K A Pottinger,
