Have Fibroids, No Pain. Scheduled For Hysterectomy. Want To Cancel Procedure

hi, I'm a 50 yr. old female needing 2ND opinion. Schedule for surgery on the 16th of this month for hysterectomy. Getting cold feet. Can i cancel this procedure now and think about it some more. I have fibroids and i don't have pain or anything. I been keeping a eye on this for many years(at least 10 yrs.) Should i wait or do the surgery.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

You can always take a second opinion before going in for surgery.
You have not mentioned exact details of ultrasound scan for fibroids. However these can always be discussed with more than one doctor. Any increase/ decrease in size and number of fibroids must have been documented in the ten years that you have had it.

The risks and benefits in not going for surgery must be clearly weighed by you.

Thanks this helps.
