Have Headache, Delay In Periods, Cramps, Breast Pain And Lower Back Pain

I am 10 days late for my period with a negative hpt last week. I have been having mild menstrual like cramps since ovulation and been having daily lower back back. Also I have been getting breast pain off and on for the last few days. Mood swings have been crazy from ready to snap to crying and emotional. HEadaches were really bad the last couple of weeks but are starting to ease up. I am always regular with the exception that my period was only 24 hours last month. I thought that I ruled out pregnancy with the negative tests but have been informed that it is still a possibility even with the negative test 5 days after my missed period. Any advice?

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

The symptoms that you are describing (mid cycle pain with persistent cramping, breast pain, mood swings, headaches) are all classic symptoms that occur during the second half of your cycle. It would be too early for these to be related to pregnancy. Also, it is possible that you just ovulated slightly later than normal, thus leading to a delay in your period. While the test is probably negative, if you ovulated late and ARE pregnant, then it might still be too early to test. Take another test in one week. If you still have not gotten your period, then call your doctor.

I hope that this helps and good luck
