Have Headaches, Been Shaky, Been Bulimic. What Is Going On?
Hi. I'm 16, female, about 5'2" and around 127lbs. I've been bulimic on and off for years due to my "attempts" at recovery, but I always go back to purging. I often skip meals and usually only eat twice a day but purge it every time. Today I ate noodles and purged and noticed these pale pink chunks coming out. I don't think I've ever seen that happen to me before. I am sure there was nothing pink or like that color in what I was eating. I feel the same, I'm light headed yet have a headache and am shaky, but I always feel like that after purging. I'm confused as to what those chunks could be though, do you have any ideas on what it could be?
Repetitive purging of food material and vomiting it out can cause the acid to damage to the esophageal (food pipe) mucosa. The pale pink description you give of the chunks could possibly be small pieces of eroded mucosa or blood stained food particles. Kindly visit a gastroenterologist to thoroughly investigate your gastro-intestinal system and also a psychiatrist to help you prevent further damage.
Hope this helps, Dr A Rao
