Have Headaches, Discomfort. Had Thyroidectomy. Taking Thyroid Medication. What Is Wrong?

Yes, I had a thyroidectomy in June and am taking armour thyroid 60g in morning and 30 in afternoon. I'm starting to feel uncomfortable, nervous, headache. The doctor increased the afternoon from 15 grams to 30. I felt better in the afternoon, not so tired (2 weeks), but now I'm uncomfortable. It seems that I need the T3, but I was wondering if the T4 is too high.

Thank you,

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Deficiency of thyroid hormones (due to thyroidectomy in your case), is corrected by thyroid hormone replacement.
When on therapy the levels of thyroid hormones fluctuates.
A close watch has to be kept for appearance of symptoms of hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism.
The levels of thyroid hormones should be checked.
TSH is the best test for follow up.
TSH will increase in case of hypothyroidism and decreased in hyperthyroidism.
If TSH decreases, T3 and T4 levels should be done because hyperthyroidism can be due to isolated increase in T3 or T4 levels.

Thanks and take care
