Have Heavy Bleeding, Had Pap Smear, Swabs Clear, In Future Another Smear
hi, i had a pap smear on wednesday last week, and for 9 days now i've bee heavy bleeding. no pain, no clots, just straight blood. not a period. swabs were taken 2 days after smear and everything came back in the clear,. my am i bleeding.. my smear was over 5yrs overdue. and i need to go back in 12months for a re test. thank-you kindly
Hi thanks for your question. One of most important point in history you have not mentioned is your age. There could be two reasons for this bleeding. First this bleeding could be from uterus for which you need to get yourself investigated. The second cause could be trauma to already inflamed cervix during pap smear, which started bleeding. A good Gynecological examination is very important to determine the cause of bleeding. Re consult your gynecologist who may examine to determine the cause of this bleeding. You may need investigation like ultrasound abdomen for evaluation of this bleeding. Hope this answers your question
