Have Hernia In The Naval. Leaking A Smelly Discharge. Suggestions?
HI, I have a hernia in my naval which may or may not have been caused by surgery I had years ago to tie my tubes . I am not overly obese, although I am a few pounds overweight . My concern is that 1 doctor friend of mine said to leave it alone while another one suggested I have it taken care of immediately, after I confessed that it was leaking a pussy smelling discharge . What do you recommend I do. Thanks YYYY@YYYY

Paraumbilical hernia needs to be treated surgically.
If it is small and no signs of obstruction or infection.
It can be felt alone. You may wait and watch.
But if it is infected as in your case. It needs evaluation and treatment of infection with antibiotics.
Infection carries a high risk of obstruction. In that case surgery can be opted for.
