Have Intermittent Bouts With The Skin Around Lips And Tingling On Tongue. What Does It Indicate?

I have been having intermittent bouts with the skin around my lips, and my lips feel hot and tingling. My lips feel a slight numbness to them and occasionally I feel numbness or tingling on my tongue. This is not every day but several times a week and today especially persistent and annoying. Any thoughts?

Hi,

After reading your query it appears that you are suffering form mild urticaria or Vitamin B12 defciency.

Urticaria is a common condition where due to release of histamine from the white blood cells; especially mast cells causes all the sensation of intermittent bouts with the skin around lips and tingling on tongue.

You can take tablet loratadine or leeocetrizine or any good antihistamine tablet by mouth for one to two times per day.

Take green leafy vegetables in your diet as some time deficiency of Vitamin B12 also causes such kind of related symptoms.

Take care.
