Have Knee Crepitus. Doing Squats, Lunges Without Weights. Had Bilateral ITB Surgical Release, Scraped Knee Cap.

I have knee crepitus without pain. I am doing squats and lunges without weights and my knees are quite loud. I had bilateral ITB surgical releases years ago and unfortunately they scraped the knee cap whilst doing the procedure.. They said "thought we would clean up under knee cap whilst we were there". I am just not sure whether that has contributed to the crepitus?? I had the op because of constant ITB pain training for triathlons.
Thanks
Donna

Hi
Generally knee crepitus may be due to arthritic changes. It can be due to knee cap too. If you can plz do x ray and post the reports.
Get well soon.
Thank you
