Have Male Pattern Baldness. Taking Levothyroxine. Have Sjogren's Syndrome. Help

I am a 63 year old white female that is experiencing male pattern baldness. About three years ago the texture of my hair changed from thick but fine too very dry, strawy and kinky. I have had my thyroid tested and have been on thyroid meds for about four years....75 mg of levothyroxine daily. I have now had to order a wig as it is falling out fast. I tried Rogaine in the male strength as I watched the Doctors one day and they said it was safe for women. I think I need to be referred to a specialist that can help me. I live in Bismarck, ND and we have nobody here that can help me. I have Sjogrens Syndrome and have had it for years. I used to get 500mg of Solumedrol every month for many years, however now since I do a phlebotomy once every two months (my body produces too much iron) I seem to have things under control and haven't had an infusion since March. I replace that with 40 mg of Prednisone every Sunday (once per week) I really need some help. Thanks

HI
Thank for choosing HCM,, Male pattern baldness, the name it self speak,, it happens only to the male persons,, you must be having alopecia, with some different etiology and not the same as in male pattern baldness,, look mam first thing in your case is thyroid dysfunction & this could be the prime cause of your hair falling another one is Sjogren syndrome, this syndrome has numbers of systemic manifestation, hair falling is one of them, I think you should reconsider about taking prednisolone , have words with your doctor regarding this,,, have nice day ( No need to take minoxidil it wont help you on other hand may disturb the hemodynamic system)
