Have Mucus Like Discharge And Tender Breast. Pregnancy Test Negative. Irregular Periods. Reason?
yes i have been on the depo shot for about a year and a half now and back in january i got my period for about two weeks but very heavy and bad cramps then in feb i got it again but with strong abdominal pain .......now my concern is that this week i have been discharging mucus like n have real tender brest,,,,,,n i took a test but it says im not pregnant???
Depot shot is very much effective in preventing unwanted pregnancy and to be taken once in 3 months. It has failure rate less than 0.3 per HWY. But there has several side effects like irregular heavy period, long time amenorrhoea, prolonged infertility after discontinuation, body wt change, headache, breast tenderness etc.
Here, you need to undergo one USG scan and hormonal assay including thyroid profile to rule out the underlying uterine pathology or any other factors.
You may take some anti spasmodic medication to get relief from abdominal cramp, take healthy diet with iron supplements, drink more fluids/ water and maintain genital hygiene properly.
Be well & take care.
