Have Pulmonary Fibrosis, CHP, DLCO, Respiratory Infection, Congestion. Taken Steroids. Help?

I have pulmonary fibrosis, CHP, not on oxygen yet but DLCO 46%. I've been stable but just got a respiratory infection for which I was put back on a short course dose of steroids and extra antibiotics. The steroids keep me awake all night as they did before. Can I take benadryl to help clear up my congestion and help sleep or does is suppress breathing too much? Thanks!

Hello,
Self medication is very dangerous.
Respiratory depression is very dangerous , so consult treating physician and if he allow than use the medicine.
D L C O is just 46 % ,so don't take any respiratory suppressant drugs.
Good luck.
