Have Purple Drainage From Ear. How To Overcome This?

yes, after I take a shower and when i use a qtip in my right ear some kind of purple drainage comes out. dark purple.
it doesn't ache but it drains like when i'm lying down at night or whenever i can feel liquid slowly leaking towards the outer part of ear. its been draining like that for years but this is the first time i seen purple on my q tip. now i'm freaking out and worried to death. thank you for your help!! joann

Hello thanks for your question.
Most probably you are having tympanic membrane perforation what is commonly called as drum perforation with infection of middle ear. Drum perforation can cause constant leak from your ear. The second possibility could be a small infective focus in external ear. Get yourself examined by an ENT surgeon to confirm pr rule out drum perforation, which if present can be managed by an ENT specialist.
