Have Severe Headache, Vertigo And Reflexes. CT And MRI Scans Have Been Done, Nothing Diagnosed Till Now. What To Do?

Sir, I am 30 years old lady, suddenly I went under severe headaque, vertigo and reflexes.
On CT & MRI, a calcified focus lesion of 6mm was found in left frontal lobe of the brain. On checking, neurologist said that the present condition is not due to this, it is a seasonal viral etc. So please let me know:-
1. What is this, and how it can be harmful for me or I should not concentrate on this,
2. In future, there may be any difficulty due to it.

Hi, as your doctor has said there is nothing wrong in the brain, the calcified focus lesion of 6mm, was found, in the frontal lobe. the calcified lobe represents the old focus, cured and got calcified, and it will never become active, so you need not worry about the old focus.
Regarding the present symptoms you must be having the treatment by now. Thank you.

  User's Response
A calcified lesion of 6 mm is usually due to a neurocysticercous lesion.
Calcification implies that the infection is controlled by the body's immune system.
It is not likely to cause any further problems in future.

However, you can take a few precautions to avoid fresh neurocysticercal lesions.
Since the infection is obtained from eating raw or uncooked food (especially salads etc.), you should avoid eating salads from restaurants and road-side dhabas. This is the main cause of the infection in our country.
Eating raw or partly cooked meat causes tapeworm infestation in the intestines which can in turn lead to neurocysticercal lesions in rare cases.
