Have Severe Itching All Over The Body. Have Been On Lot Of Medication. Is This The Reaction Of The Medicine?

My mother is 96 yrold and is on various meds. She has developed a severe itch all over her body that is getting worse each day.SHe has been put on several anti-itch meds for allergies but none seem to work. She called tonight to say she is scratching so much that she wants to die.Could this be an intereaction between her meds. She is on a low dose thyroid ,coumadin and various high blood pressure meds.Nothing seems to work to stop the itch. She says even wearing her clothes bother her. Please help me to help her!!!!By the way she is a very with it lady ie:not confused.

It would most likely be a drug induced pruritis which needs to be ruled out by her doctor.Eliminating all drugs except the essential ones and then discontinuing them one by one may help detect the drug causing the itching.
