Have Sore And Swollen Throat. No Medication Till Now. What It Can Be?
my throat (right side only) has been hurting everynite around 7pm. tonite its hurting my ear. no cough, no running nose, in fact I feel great. just throat feels swollen. Ive researched what other people say, and someone wrote allergies. I live in san diego, could it be weather change. no health insurance so going to doc is out of question. oh, and its not really even my throat, its like a gland or something.

Sore (hurting ) throat is usually suggestive of throat infection - commonly related to virus, ear pain may be related to radiation of pain thr the tube between ear & throat
You can take over the counter meds like Advil ( ibuprofen) & paracetamol (acetaminophen)
Advil 1 tab three times a day
Paracetamol 1g four times a day
Also gargling with warm - hot water + salt (or any antiseptic mouthwash liq) 3-4 times a day will also help
After doing above treatment & allowing some time eventually viral infection will clear

I had gone through your query regarding pain in the throat specially on right side, and this hurts too much during swallowing. As you said that you are not having any cold, cough or running nose.
On the basis of your complaints it appears as your tonsil of right side is hurting you. The possibilities of unilateral tonsillar infection are-
(a) Quinsy.
(b) Infected tonsillar cyst.
(c) Dyspeptic or Aphthus ulcer over right tonsil.
To get relief you may take-
(1) Tab Paracetamol for pain
(2) Warm saline gargling.
(c) Vitamin B complex.
