Have Sore Throat. Had Oral Sex. STI Test Done, Negative. Can This Be HPV Inthe Throat?

I have a sore scratchy dry throat. Only on the left side and also on the back of the inside of my tongue. I have the pain over 2 years now. I first got tonsillitis after oral sex with another man. I got tested twice for STIs and they were all negative. Is it possible I have HPV in the throat? What is the test for HPV and would this have been covered in my 2 full STI screenings. Thank you

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Dear,
As per the history you have given and the clinical findings you may be suffering with chronic Tonsillitis. This is usually mixed infection and you can get the Elisa test done to rule out HPV infection.
I would suggest you to consult the Specialist if you don’t get relief as on examination the findings may be different and line of treatment may have to be changed.
Yours sincerely
