Have Swollen Occipital Lymph Node With Severe Pain In Neck, Shoulder And Jaw. Gave Antibiotics For Possible Infection
I have a swollen occipital lymph node on the right side, with pretty severe neck pain, head ache, extreme fatigue, pain in my right shoulder/arm, and jaw/mouth pain. Doc said it's probably just an infection somewhere and gave me antibiotics but I am concerned at the pain levels.
Hi. It is rare for occipital Lymph nodes to get enlarged and painful. There may be a focus in the scalp ( skin of head). All the other pains you say must be due to muscle spasm secondary to inflamed Node. See the result of Antibiotics , and painkillers which you must have been advised for a few more days. You may need an additional or change of antibiotics then. If the node persists even after a few weeks of treatment it is better to go for FNAC= fine needle aspiration cytology.
