Have Three Stints, Took Lisinopril, Metoprolol, BP High. Contraindications While Using These Medicines. Any Alternative?

Have three stints 2yrs, took lisinopril 40mg, several years, started to not be effective, after stints also taking metoprolol 25, one half tablet M/E. BP still high. started on diovan 160mg/1 per day, for two months. Not helping. Now for 10 days doubled dose. 160 Morning and Evening. still no drop in BP. Average BP is 150/89/58 pulse. I see from medscape that there are contraindications using these meds. also taking paroxetine 40mg/day. what might be some alternatives?

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

A third or even a fourth drug from a different class can be added...
In this situation, a diuretic like thiazide / then, if necessary, a Calcium Channel Blocker like amlodipine – can be added.
There are specific indications and contraindications for every drug... and your provider can appraise depending on the need...

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
